How much money would I save by not eating out?

Sometimes when I post about frugality or cutting out luxuries, I get push back. The YOLOers light me up and tell me to live a little and stop shaming people for enjoying a meal out. The point of this isn’t to shame or suggest you shouldn’t enjoy life. But it’s to offer OPTIONS. You can certainly eat lunch out every day of your life if you want to! But at least so do with the awareness of what it’s costing you down the road. ‎

This illustration points to two extreme examples. No one eats out of a paper bag EVERY DAY and no one eats out EVERY DAY. But it’s a spectrum. Where do you fall? How much do you treasure today’s eating out vs tomorrow’s early retirement? What about the car? The fancy clothes? The digital subscriptions? The expensive apartment? ‎

Figure out what matters to you make sure to put your dollars to work in the way that actually makes a difference in your life. Don’t let the meaningless small purchases that don’t improve your life rob you of future wealth.‎

As always, reminding you to build wealth by following the two PFC rules: 1.) Live below your means and 2.) Invest early and often.‎
