The most valuable 10 minutes of your life might be the 10 minutes where you set up an auto investment into your Roth IRA. That one step can make you a millionaire over time.
The math above assumes a 9% return over the course of 40 years. As a point of reference, the US Stock market as measured by the S&P 500 has returned about 11.6% per year over the last 40 years.
If you’re curious how to do this, check my other posts on how to open a Roth IRA and target date index funds. It might take you a couple hours to figure out. That’s like making a million dollars per hour. I’d go for it.
