Women are powering the economy

Did you know that the FEDERAL RESERVE mentioned Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Barbie in their meetings multiple times??

You can probably thank these women for preventing the US economy from falling into a recession. These three alone contributed about 0.60% to the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of the US in the third quarter. This is the fastest that the economy has grown in two years.

The numbers in the post include all economic activity, such as travel, restaurants, hotels, and so on. And these estimates are actually on the conservative side. Some estimates say that Taylor Swift’s tour alone brought in over $10 billion in economic spending.

On an individual level, these women broke SO many records. Barbie was the first billion dollar blockbuster solely directed by a woman. And it’s one of the few billion dollar movies with a female lead character. Of the 53 movies that have crossed the billion dollar threshold, only nine center around a woman lead role (and half of those are animated children’s movies!).

There is still a gender imbalance when it comes to career opportunities and earning potential. Let these women inspire you and remind you that women are no less capable than men.

P.S. Did you know women are better investors than men?! Regardless of whether you are a man or woman, we will teach you how to build the optimal portfolio and take the emotions out of investing.
